Each day it becomes more and more clear to me that the Creator has put me here to help women entrepreneurs (particularly of color) breakthrough to new levels when it comes to money and influence.  

Each day in my meditations I hear messages affirming that that the Creator wants YOU to live in total abundance, prosperity and overflow AND as a spirit-led entrepreneur your Creator wants you to be seen and heard and for your message to be accessible to those YOU are here to help.

So here are four questions to answer that will shift your mindset in a new direction to determine if you are REALLY ready for the the financial abundance, surplus and overflow you say you want.  

 Answer these questions RIGHT NOW:

Question #1:  Is the safety of my comfort zone really serving me or is it holding me back?

Question #2:  What calculated risks or bold actions am I ready to take right now to create more money in my business than ever before?

Question #3:  Do my current and potential clients/customers consistently experience me in my full, brilliant, authentic and beautiful power or am I dimming my light so people wont feel insecure around me?

Question #4:  Have I prepared myself mentally, emotionally and strategically with a clear vision to receive 6 or 7-figures into my business?

3 Kick-butt Summer Marketing Tips to Grow Your Business

ready for summer publicity?

Depending on what business you are in, Summer can be either really busy — or NOT. Especially if you have a brick and mortar business.

So what are some ways you can keep clients and customers flowing through your doors? Here are three kick-butt ideas I want you to start implementing now:

  • Pick up the phone and do some personal follow-up. No matter what kind of business you’re in, more than likely you’ve come to know some of your customers. You know what their preferences are and what they will quickly respond to. 

So when you have a product or service that you know certain customers will love, why assume that they’ll find out about it via email or word-of-mouth? A phone call adds a profound personal touch to your business and gets people coming in the door!

Do the math: Imagine if you called 8 of your best clients and let them know about the newest product or service available. If three of them took you up on your offer, how much additional revenue would that add to your bottom line?

  • Always give them a reason to comeback–sooner rather than later! I am always surprised when I go into a business or make an online purchase and I am not given an incentive to go back. 

WHENEVER a customer or client invests in your business give them something to incentivize their return. Grocery stores have this down to a science. Every time they hand you a receipt there’s a coupon attached to it! Follow that model. Put a deadline on your offer (usually within the next 30 days) and watch this work!

  • Make it clear to your customers why they need you. You may have a beautifully profound service offering or a brick and mortar business that is off the chain! But if you aren’t proactively marketing your business and telling your customers EXACTLY what problem you solve for them or EXACTLY why they need you, a consistent flow of business might elude you. 

How do you do this?

Craft a powerful marketing statement that conveys exactly what you do for your client. It can look something like this:

I work with (describe your ideal client)___________________ to help them (your solution)_____________ so they can (your result)______________.

Or:

We provide (your brilliant service)____________________ to (your ideal client)________________ so they can (your result)______________________.

Summer is a great opportunity to kick off this simple marketing campaign! Make it fun and add a little creativity. Your customers will feel your energy and they will respond!

Are women worth less than men?

I started working at the age of 14.

I’ve been a tutor, a day camp counselor, a fast-food restaurant employee (McDonald’s & Subway) an administrative assistant, a producer and an on-air personality.

I have never done a job where I didn’t work my A$$ off and I have always loved making my own money!

But now that I am older, I realize that unfortunately hard work doesn’t always pay off the way it should.

The fight continues!

Every since women were allowed to officially enter into the “workplace” we have ALWAYS made less than our male counterparts. Even in situations where we have the same or more skill, education or experience we tend to only make about 77 cents to every dollar that a man makes.

Why is this blatantly discriminatory practice still taking place? Why do women still have to fight for fairness in 2013? Here are some other troubling stats:

- The wage gap is even larger for women of color – African American women and Hispanic women.

- Men of color also experience a significant wage gap.

- This issue doesn’t just affect women, it affects entire families because more and more women are the principal wage earners in their household.

I have a serious problem with this!

That’s why I am excited to be involved in this year’s Equal Pay Day Rally being held in Chicago on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. It’s sponsored by the YWCA and a host of other dynamic women’s advocacy organizations.
