Are women entrepreneurs subconsciously afraid to create 6 or 7-figure businesses? Part I

One of my clients runs a 5.1 million dollar business.  The business doubled its revenue from last year and is expected to exceed revenue projections over the next 3 years.  Not surprisingly, this client is a man.

I don’t say that as a put down to women entrepreneurs.  If you know me, you know I have a passion for working with women in business.  We have unique sensibilities and a unique kind of brilliance that I just love to leverage and bring forth to help women be more profitable and influential.

Is this you?

However, I also know that many of the women entrepreneurs I’ve come in contact with over the past 3 years simply do not take the time to do certain key things that are essential to success in business.

Here are a few of the big mistakes some women entrepreneurs make:

1.)  They don’t take time daily to track exactly how much money they have coming in vs. what’s going out.

2.)  They don’t create standard operating procedures that can be easily repeated with or without them being there, therefore, they are stuck doing everything, all the time.

3.)  They work so hard in their business that they literally get buried under the weight of daily mundane tasks.  You know, all the little things on their “to-do” list (which they should NOT be doing) that keep them from emerging as the visionary feminine leader of their enterprise.

4.)  They run their businesses reactively rather than proactively.  That’s because they don’t take the time to plan their marketing and profit strategy at least 6 months to a year in advance.

5.)  They don’t really aim for high success strategically.  I rarely hear women entrepreneurs project that revenues will double in 18 months as they grow  profitable 7-figure businesses.  It’s very, very rare and it ONLY happens among women of a certain mindset!

Do any of these sound familiar to you?  They sure do with me.  I’ve experienced all of the above!

These mistakes are a manifestation of fear.  Fear of success or fear of what life looks like outside of your comfort zone. I’ll talk about this more in an upcoming post.  The bottom-line is this, it’s time for women entrepreneurs to decide if they are going to be business women or hobbyists.

Business women plan to strategically grow, expand and build for long-term success.  Hobbyists hope and pray and operate in a vacuum with no real support system.  Unfortunately, the hobbyists don’t last very long.

I am Heaven-bent on helping women entrepreneurs break through all these barriers, even as I break through them myself.  Because of the work I’ve done these last two years – learning from millionaire business people and being supported by brilliant entrepreneurs — I can see the blindspots as well as the opportunities you may not be able to.  Plus I understand the mindset shifts needed and I know how to help serious businesswomen make those shifts.

So here are my questions for you:

Are you really ready to play BIG?

Are you really ready to map out YOUR success strategy?

Are you READY to make 2013 your year of Transformation, Power and Profits?

If so, what habit, pattern or behavior are you willing to give up to make it happen starting now?

Leave your answers below.  Meanwhile, be sure to check back here in two weeks.  I’ll have an interview with my 5 million dollar client, so you can learn some of his secrets to success.
